Northwest Animators Showcase 2017

This is part of Northwest Animation Fest 2017

The Northwest indie animation scene is super-charged with creative energy. Maybe it's the rain inspiring us to sit down and make art? Dig into the mystery with this diverse collection of short films from Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. After the screening, stay for a special 30min "Meet the Animators" panel discussion.

Here's some of what you'll see: Racing to escape a doomed planet, a snarky spaceman and his hologram sidekick contend with an invasion of giant alien sandworms aboard their ship. Oregon's iconic Painted Hills transform into mystic, levitating pyramids. Ever-judgmental Danny views the annoying people in her life as a contemptible menagerie of animals — until hurting a friend reveals her own inner beast. An old oracle looks for shapes in the clouds to dictate which member of his village will be sacrificed next from atop the great ocean cliffs. The Northwest's manliest lumberjack chops down one tree too many, awakening a hell-beaver with an appetite for beards.
