Series: Hollywood Babylon

Most screenings are currently at 75% capacity. Some screenings will be at 100% and, if so, the page for that event will note that. Concessions will be available. Masks are required while in all common areas, including in your seat when not actively eating or drinking.

Hollywood Babylon returns with a 35mm print of this scandalous 1933 pre-Code classic! This screening is free to Hollywood Theatre members.

Directed by Lloyd Bacon and Busby Berkeley: Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression, a broke and ill Broadway producer, Julian Marsh (Warner Baxter), decides to put on one last hurrah or die trying. But when his leading lady, Dorothy Brock (Bebe Daniels), has an unfortunate accident, it's up to inexperienced chorus girl Peggy Sawyer (Ruby Keeler) to save the show! With lavish choreography by Busby Berkeley, the musical writing team of Harry Warren and Al Dubin, and co-starring Una Merkel, Ginger Rogers, Dick Powell, George Brent, and Guy Kibbee, there's nothing but a great time to be had!
