Female Trouble

Series: Mondo Trasho

The Hollywood Theatre’s new series MONDO TRASHO premieres for Pride month with the quintessential queer trash classic FEMALE TROUBLE! Directed by John Waters, 1974’s FEMALE TROUBLE charts the rise and fall of Dawn Davenport (Divine), who enters a life of crime after a childhood without cha-cha heels. Co-starring Waters’ Dreamland regulars David Lochary, Edith Massey, Mary Vivian Pearce, Cookie Mueller, and Mink Stole as Dawn’s Hare Krishna-singing daughter Taffy, FEMALE TROUBLE asks “Who wants to die for art?” in a trash-filled tribute to Waters’ criminal collective of underground artists.
