Hocus Pocus

Series: Fashion in Film

Picture it: Halloween in the year 1693 where a teenage Thackery Binx gets turned into a black cat by the iconic, stylish Sanderson sisters—three witches named Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and Mary (Kathy Najimy)—before they are banished to the beyond. Cut to the year 1993 where a new-in-town boy, Max (Omri Katz), accidentally brings them back to life in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween where they run amok ready to suck the souls of more children. Max, his little sister Dani (Thora Birch), and his school crush must do whatever they can to get rid of the velvet caped sisters even when no one else believes them.

This screening of the fantasy comedy horror film HOCUS POCUS is part of the Hollywood’s signature Fashion in Film series that looks at the styles that influenced pop culture through movies.
