Jezebel

This is part of Feminist March 2020

As part of the Hollywood Theatre's Feminist March programming, JOOP JOOP presents a screening of feature film JEZEBEL and short film AGAIN AND AGAIN in partnership with local organizations that have missions aligned with the content of these two films, both written and directed by womxn: Couch Film Collective, a feminist film collective; Stroll, a harm reduction, outreach, and education group run by and for sex workers; and Meals 4 Heels, Portland's late-night clean meal delivery service catering to the sex worker community.

Directed by Numa Perrier, JEZEBEL (2019) follows 19-year-old Tiffany who crashes with five family members in a Las Vegas studio apartment. In order to make ends meet, her older sister, a phone sex operator, introduces her to the world of internet fetish cam girls. Directed by Court Ross, AGAIN AND AGAIN is about the cycle of a survivor’s struggle and an advocate's resilience. Regina, a passionate advocate, checks in with Amber, whose 30 days at the shelter is almost up. It's clear Amber has lost hope that she’ll ever truly escape her abuser, but Regina does her best to offer resources.
