Lonely Are the Brave

Series: Cinema Classics

This is part of Free Member Screenings

For our April Cinema Classics screenings, we’re proud to present LONELY ARE THE BRAVE, in tribute to Kirk Douglas (1916-2020). The screening on 4/4 is free for Hollywood Theatre members!

Kirk Douglas stars as Jack Burns, an itinerant ranch hand who lives in the tradition of the cowboys of the Old West, though his rejection of rules and regulations puts him in constant conflict with the modern world. When he runs afoul of the law after a minor offense, Burns launches a desperate attempt to escape to Mexico which challenges his uncompromising spirit every step of the way. Co-starring Walter Matthau, George Kennedy, and Gena Rowlands, and known as Douglas’s favorite film, LONELY ARE THE BRAVE wears its heart on its sleeve and is all the better for it.
