Yellow Wallpaper, Fall of Usher + Short Films

Saturday's films screen from 1-11 pm with a dinner break.

Short Films (2 blocks)
This lineup of short films from all over the world may cause you to question your reality...and your sanity! Short films range from direct adaptations of stories by Lovecraft and his contemporaries to original stories that couldn’t exist without the influence of cosmic horror. Q&A with attending filmmakers follows.

Feature: The Yellow Wallpaper - OR Premiere
Adapted from the story by Charlotte Gilman Perkins, director Kevin Pontuti and co-writer Alexandra Loreth present this classic as a lushly filmed period piece. Jane, a young mother and writer, is prescribed a rest treatment by her physician husband John, who locks her in a room for the summer. She becomes obsessed with the peculiar wallpaper and in her isolation, she secretly writes about a woman trapped in the wallpaper—that she alone can free.

Feature: The Fall of Usher - World Premiere
A young man with everything to prove and nothing to lose sees his life overtaken by murder, madness and the macabre. Based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, this modern mash-up of many Poe stories you know and love delves deep into themes of loss and grief that are so prominent in Poe’s work. Q&A with actor Riker Hill and producer Nic Brown follows the film.
