Sullivan's Travels with Preston Sturges Jr.

Series: Cinema Classics

For our November Cinema Classics screenings, we’re proud to present Preston Sturges’ classic comedy SULLIVAN’S TRAVELS in 35mm, with the director’s son in attendance for a post-film Q&A! The Sunday screening is free for Hollywood Theatre members.

SULLIVAN’S TRAVELS (1941): Hollywood film director John L. Sullivan (Joel McCrea), determined to cast aside the fluff films he’s known for and make a serious film about the plight of the downtrodden poor, dresses as a hobo and sets off on a journey in order to “know trouble” firsthand. When all he finds is a train ride back to Hollywood and a beautiful blonde companion (Veronica Lake), he redoubles his efforts, landing himself in more trouble than he bargained for.

Passes Accepted: Guest Pass and Member Guest Pass.
