Performance by David J (with a full band) encompassing songs from his entire career in a "storyteller" format, followed by the film. Member pre-sale begins Wednesday, August 4 at 12:00pm. General admission tickets will be on sale Thursday, August 5, at 12:00pm.

David J is the legendary songwriter and bassist for the bands Bauhaus and Love & Rockets. David’s lyrical and songwriting contributions to Bauhaus’s debut single “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” launched an entire genre of music. This clarion call to the dark hearts of the world opens up the film The Hunger in what must be the most goth moment in film history. The ominous and dub-tinged hypnotic descending bass line of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” sets the scene for the entrance of none other than David Bowie And Catherine Denueve into the stark yet romantic landscape that embodies THE HUNGER.

In 1983's THE HUNGER, a love triangle develops between a beautiful yet dangerous vampire, her cellist companion, and a young scientist.

This film and music event kicks off the new series from The Hollywood Theatre titled “Reverb & Seduction," which aims to pair influential musical acts from around the world with film in a storyteller-like setting. Curated by Collin Hegna of the bands Federale & The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
